Her name means Neith is satisfied. She was the wife of unified Egypt's1st king Narmer 3100 BCE. She bore the title of khenty wat: foremost of the women. A jar sealing impressed with her name is kept at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Rock carvings bearing her name were discovered in the valley Ameyra at the Sinai Peninsula. Her tomb was discovered in 1897 by the French Jacques De Morgan at Naqada town in Qena Governorate. In 1904 the British Johan Garstang uncovered 200 objects from her ruined tomb which are now housed in his museum at the University of Liverpool. A photo shows two arrows crossed over a shield the symbol of the deity Neith and the sign of happiness and satisfaction, this is her name(Neithhotep).
