The Great Hypostyle Hall of karnak Temple In The City of Luxor,Egypt


It was built around the 19th dynasty 1290-1225 BC. It covers an area of 5000 sq m ( 54000 sq ft) . It has 134 columns in 16 rows , the middle rows are 24 m tall and 10 m in circumference. Those papyrus columns represent the primeval swamps from which God Amen, a self- created deity, arose from the waters of chaos at the beginning of the creation. It is covered with hundreds of religious , historical relief carvings and panoramic battle scenes immortalize the wars of the pharaohs Seti the 1st and Ramses the 2nd in ancient Syria , Lebanon , Canaan and Libya. It truly captures the imagination of its visitors.
